A crash the size of Texas took place in the very state this last Thanksgiving. The crash involved over a hundred cars with a 120 civilians being hospitalized and two being killed.

The massive accident began with a multi-car wreck in the eastbound lanes of interstate 10 around 8:45 a.m. Following as a result was a 100 car pile-up that stretched across miles of freeway and both directions of traffic. Video from CNN affiliate KBMT showed the fatalness of the tragedy with footage of badly mangled vehicles atop one another and the victims laying in the grass waiting for the ambulance to come take them to the hospital.

The two killed were identified as Vincent Leggio, 64, and Debra Leggio, 60. Both were in the same vehicle when it was suddenly smashed into from behind by an eighteen wheeler.

It has still not been decisively determined to what the exact cause of the auto accident was, but Texas Highway Patrol Trooper Stephanie Davis says that “initial reports at the time of the crash indicated a dense fog, which could be a contributing factor to those crashes.” This sort of factor makes sense considering the extent to which these accidents continued to happen and that one’s inability to see can be a clear cause of this. The westbound lanes following the crash were closed for nearly four hours while the eastbound lanes remained closed for most of the day.

This calamity is an example of a bad situation becoming much worse real fast. What started out as a single-digit misfortune turned into a triple-digit catastrophe that forced hospitals to overflow and hundreds of Thanksgiving Day plans to be ruined. While sometimes undesired chain-reactions are inevitable, other times they are avoidable but happen anyway due to continued negligence.

One example of this is when victims of accidents do not attain proper legal counsel and they are consequently burdened with unnecessary medical bills that can adversely change the financial standing in their life. If you or someone you love has recently suffered from the careless actions of someone else, then act now and acquire a knowledgeable attorney who is familiar with such law and can make sure that you and your family are financially taken care and not hindered now or in the future by any monetary shortcomings.

Accidents on the road are imminent. It is the nature of the world we live in that sometimes bad things just happen, but it is how we react to such inevitability that distinguishes the difference between recovery and continued suffering. Do not, metaphorically speaking, let your single-digit accident become a triple-digit accident, and secure an accident attorney in the Texas now who can fight to make sure this sort of unwanted domino effect never occurs.
