The roads were unusually perilous this last Sunday night. Police in three North Texas counties are investigating four unrelated accidents that brought an end to five different peoples’ lives.

In Lewisville, the most fatal of the four accidents occurred as a sport utility vehicle, filled with six people who were headed home to Nebraska from Houston, crashed and rolled over near Garden Ridge Boulevard exit around 7:15 a.m. One person was pronounced dead at the scene and another shortly after at the local hospital. The other four were fortunately only injured.

Nearby, another person’s life was also taken after a Jeep collided with a Pontiac Grand Prix and consequently went airborne over the guardrail where they  fell 15 feet to the service road below. The passenger in the jeep was the one who lost their life while the driver remains in the hospital in critical condition. The person in the Pontiac did not sustain any serious injuries.

In Arlington, the third accident occurred when a Ford F-250 pickup rolled down an embankment along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 near Fielder road at approximately 2:30 a.m. Investigators reported that the driver- who was alone in his truck- was thrown from the vehicle and declared dead at the scene.

Ending the night of tragedy was a Texas motorcycle accident that occurred near Eagle Mountain Lake. According to reports, two motorcycles collided with one another in which the rider of one, Nathan Berman, age 66, was killed as a result.

The frequency of fatal accidents on this particular night is by no means a common occurrence, but this is also not to say that driving and accidents are something not to be fearful of. The reality of the road is that at any given second, by no fault of your own sometimes, a catastrophe can occur that changes your life forever. The families of the five aforementioned deceased can unfortunately attest to that better than anyone.

When such a calamity occurs, the actual accident is not the end of things. There is a continuing recovery process, both physically and emotionally, that can result in outstanding medical bills. If you are victim of such devastation, and the cause of this accident was someone else’s carelessness, then you are entitled to compensation that covers everything from medical bills to loss of earnings and more.
